My wife started making sourdough during the pandemic (sound familiar?), but was not able to keep it up after she got a new job. One day, when I was feeling particularly bored, I asked her a bit about what she had learned, then started doing my own research and, most importantly, experimenting. Now, I like to think I’m pretty good at speaking the language of leaven, recognizing the patterns of proofing, and identifying the sound of a perfectly-cooked crumb. I’ve always enjoyed sharing my knowledge of all kinds with others. I hope you will join me as I share my sourdough process as I make bread for my family.

As for the story jokes, well, they show up from time to time because my rhythm for breadmaking is so ingrained at this point that I often spend time during the process thinking about how to make a joke more interesting before I share it with the next person.
